Vengeful Rotten Casualties by Lucy Smoke

Vengeful Rotten Casualties, (Sick Boys)
Lucy Smoke
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I sold my soul to the devil only to turn around and slit his throat… Thomas Kincaid took everything from me. My mother. My hopes. My innocence. Now, it’s my turn. He thought he was safe. They all did. They were wrong. Men always think they can take without ever having to deal with the consequences. Well, now I’m back, and I'm the last consequence they’ll ever see. *This is a dark romance, and contains dark and very taboo themes which some readers may find uncomfortable or upsetting such as but not limited to SA, murder, violence, child abuse, sexual slavery, misuse of the law, drug use etc. If you do not enjoy these themes, or have triggers, please do not read. Recommended for 18+ due to sexual content and adult situations. Please read responsibly.*

This is the final book in the Sick Boys series and focuses on Luc and Micki. Let me start off by saying that while this whole series has been on the darker side, this book is DARK DARK. Read the trigger warnings and if dark isn't your thing, don't read the durn book!! Easy peasy.

Now with all that said, I freaking loved this book. Micki has to be the most damaged female lead I've read in a while. The things that happened to this poor girl will rip your heart out. She didn't let it break her though. She is a survivor and she is ready for vengeance.

Luc we have seen throughout the series. Me personally, I've always felt a little sorry for Luc. He kinda had a raw deal from the jump, being on the outside and fighting his way in. I always wanted him to get his happy ending and while this book takes us through the fucking gutter, we do come out with a happy ending for Luc and Micki. We get to dive down into the real meat of Luc's past and his personality. He's a little different than one might have suspected. While he can be an absolute hardass, when it comes to Micki he is just what she needs. It was a little bit of a different aspect for their relationship b/c they weren't enemies. They have a past connection that was already incredibly strong and even after everything that happened, that bond was still there.

This book, like all of Lucy's books, take us for a very eventful ride. There are ups and downs, happy and sad moments. Moments that will make you believe in love and moments that will absolutely tear you up and have you bawling like a baby. There is no shortage of action. While this book is about Luc and Micki, it also brings a close to the Sick Boys series. It's so bittersweet b/c we have loved this group from the get go and now it's all over. Yet, I'm so happy with how everything came together at the end. Lucy did a fantastic job with this whole series and this last book, knocked it out of the park.

Now I want to reiterate DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE DARKNESS. IT'S HELLA FUCKING DARK!!!!!!!!

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Merciless Spy by Heather Long

Merciless Spy, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The fierce twin. The dark brother. The wild one. I don’t give a damn about labels. I never have. Not when it comes to me. But stay the hell away from my brothers. All of them. I’ve sacrificed a lot for them, and I’m more than willing to give a lot more. If my blood, sweat, tears, and life were needed, I’d give it all up. Every damn drop. For my brothers, there was nothing I wouldn’t lose. Until her. Reckless, ferocious, and seemingly born to match me in temperament and spirit, Hellspawn is not the fragile flower they all think she is. I don’t think she ever has been. She will not be left behind, she will not hide, and she will not take the crap that life has been throwing at her. She’s saved our lives, defended us, fought for us, and sacrificed herself for us. I have no questions about what she would do if they tried to leverage us against her. This is why I won’t allow anyone to put her to t...
