Redheaded Redemption by Rebecca Royce

Redheaded Redemption, (Redheads Book 2)

Blurb:

From Rebecca Royce, USA Today Bestselling Author, Comes A Story Of Two People Who Should Not Be Together…Yet Can’t Stay Apart If anyone asked me—not that anyone does—I’d have to admit that I was floundering. My job was temporary, and I had no idea what I was going to do with the rest of my life. Enter Max Broadley. Tall. Good Looking. Master Chef. Of course, being thrown out of his restaurant sort of sucked, but figuring out why at least gave me something productive to do with my time. The answer, however, horrified me. Now, all of my attention turned to making amends to Max for what I had done. I needed redemption, somehow, even though my actions were irredeemable. Add to all this, I’m so attracted to him I can hardly see straight. When things go from bad to worse, I’ll have to ask the impossible- Max’s help. I have secrets no one can know and yet I want to tell them all to Max—the one man I shouldn’t trust with them. It all seems like a recipe for disaster. *The reader should know this is a contemporary enemy to lovers' age-gap romance that has some events some readers may find triggering. There is a happily ever after with no cliffhanger. It is the second book in a three book series.*

Redheaded Redemption is the second book in Rebecca's Redheads series and can be read by itself. The series is about sisters Layla, Hope and Bridget and this is Hope's book. I absolutely adored Hope's story. Hope is such a damaged character and yet she is so strong. I love how Rebecca always gives us characters that aren't perfect in whatever way. Hope is struggling with some things from her past, some traumatic things. There is also the whole aspect of her father is a dirtbag running from the mob. So it's not like she has an easy life, even if her public persona gives off that impression. Even with all her own damage, she feels like she has to make the world a better place. And she does.

Max has his own kind of baggage. After Hope did what she did, Max has worked hard to build things back up for himself. He doesn't have the perfect past either though, even before he ever dealt with Hope. So yes, this is most definitely about  two people who should not be together but are absolutely perfect for each other.

It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it was about this book that drew me in so much. There was definitely the chemistry and pull between Hope and Max. I think her character just grabbed me. She had so much going on. Even on the verge of breaking though, it was never about her. She always wanted to take care of everyone else. Then toward the end when she confronts Max. Oh my heart. And then that thing Max does, I may have squealed a little bit. So dreamy.

So yes, I absolutely think you need to give this book a read. You will want to read Layla's book as well b/c she had a great story too. Hope took the cake for me though.

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Merciless Spy by Heather Long

Merciless Spy, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The fierce twin. The dark brother. The wild one. I don’t give a damn about labels. I never have. Not when it comes to me. But stay the hell away from my brothers. All of them. I’ve sacrificed a lot for them, and I’m more than willing to give a lot more. If my blood, sweat, tears, and life were needed, I’d give it all up. Every damn drop. For my brothers, there was nothing I wouldn’t lose. Until her. Reckless, ferocious, and seemingly born to match me in temperament and spirit, Hellspawn is not the fragile flower they all think she is. I don’t think she ever has been. She will not be left behind, she will not hide, and she will not take the crap that life has been throwing at her. She’s saved our lives, defended us, fought for us, and sacrificed herself for us. I have no questions about what she would do if they tried to leverage us against her. This is why I won’t allow anyone to put her to t...

Reckless Thief by Heather Long

Reckless Thief, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The mentor. The doctor. The Vandal. I grew up on the streets despite my older sister’s best efforts to keep my nose clean. I thought I knew better. I worked hard. and made money. Who cared if what I did was a little illegal? Then a little boy paid the price for my carelessness. A little boy and his baby sister. It was the wakeup call I needed, even if the cost came too high. Rough choices made for rough outcomes and when I had the chance to join the military or go to jail to get straight, I went to the military. I paid for my thoughtless actions by becoming deliberate. I paid for my greed by offering service. I paid for my chance at a better life with blood, sweat, and fire. That service left me scarred but determined. Medical school and training taught me I could continue to serve. I walked away from the streets, from the blood, the violence, and costs of doing business. Living a life I ...
