Blurb:
From Rebecca Royce, USA Today Bestselling Author, Comes A Story Of Two People Who Should Not Be Together…Yet Can’t Stay Apart
If anyone asked me—not that anyone does—I’d have to admit that I was floundering. My job was temporary, and I had no idea what I was going to do with the rest of my life.
Enter Max Broadley. Tall. Good Looking. Master Chef. Of course, being thrown out of his restaurant sort of sucked, but figuring out why at least gave me something productive to do with my time.
The answer, however, horrified me. Now, all of my attention turned to making amends to Max for what I had done. I needed redemption, somehow, even though my actions were irredeemable.
Add to all this, I’m so attracted to him I can hardly see straight.
When things go from bad to worse, I’ll have to ask the impossible- Max’s help. I have secrets no one can know and yet I want to tell them all to Max—the one man I shouldn’t trust with them.
It all seems like a recipe for disaster.
*The reader should know this is a contemporary enemy to lovers' age-gap romance that has some events some readers may find triggering. There is a happily ever after with no cliffhanger. It is the second book in a three book series.*
Redheaded Redemption is the second book in Rebecca's Redheads series and can be read by itself. The series is about sisters Layla, Hope and Bridget and this is Hope's book. I absolutely adored Hope's story. Hope is such a damaged character and yet she is so strong. I love how Rebecca always gives us characters that aren't perfect in whatever way. Hope is struggling with some things from her past, some traumatic things. There is also the whole aspect of her father is a dirtbag running from the mob. So it's not like she has an easy life, even if her public persona gives off that impression. Even with all her own damage, she feels like she has to make the world a better place. And she does.
Max has his own kind of baggage. After Hope did what she did, Max has worked hard to build things back up for himself. He doesn't have the perfect past either though, even before he ever dealt with Hope. So yes, this is most definitely about two people who should not be together but are absolutely perfect for each other.
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it was about this book that drew me in so much. There was definitely the chemistry and pull between Hope and Max. I think her character just grabbed me. She had so much going on. Even on the verge of breaking though, it was never about her. She always wanted to take care of everyone else. Then toward the end when she confronts Max. Oh my heart. And then that thing Max does, I may have squealed a little bit. So dreamy.
So yes, I absolutely think you need to give this book a read. You will want to read Layla's book as well b/c she had a great story too. Hope took the cake for me though.
