Wicked Dark Heathen by Lucy Smoke

Wicked Dark Heathens, (Sick Boys)

Blurb:
What tangled webs we weave... He's everything I don't want. A playboy. A best with a cunningly gorgeous smile. Faces like his only mean one thing. Somewhere underneath all of that handsomeness, there lies a monster. And if anyone can sense a monster, it's me. I understand cruelty. I've lived and breathed it my entire life. I existed on the 'charity' of others until I realized that it woudn't be enough. My demons would soon be set free. They were coming back for me and to be ready for them—to be ready for him—I needed to make myself invincible. But it's not enough. If I'm going to survive then I need to make an alliance with a monster of my own: Abel Frazier.

Wicked Dark Heathen is the fourth book in the Sick Boys series but this one isn't about Dean and Ava. Nope this time we get Abel and Rylie. Can I just start off by saying that I want to have babies with Abel Frazier? I just want to kidnap him and keep him forever. I LOVE HIM!!! Rylie is pretty awesome too. Now she is not Avalon. She is a badass in her own right, but not in the same way that Ava was. So even though we read and loved the first three books, let's let Abel and Rylie have their own story. And what a story it is.

We knew that Rylie had a past. She was running from something and had been doing a really good job of staying hidden. Then one little mistake brings it all crashing down around her. I really enjoyed learning more about her and her past. I think that she has to be an incredibly strong minded person to have gone through and survived all that she has.

Abel Frazier. Oh my. He has his own dark past to deal with. Bless his heart. He is such a dark presence in the world but he is carrying so much hurt and brokenness. You can't help but fall for him. We really get to see a side of him that we NEVER expected. He is so damn good to Rylie. Even when he's being bad.

These two couldn't be more perfect for each other. They are both broken souls. They are both hiding from something in their own different ways. It took a while to get them together but when they get there, ugh it's just fucking perfection. For me, these two are my couple of the series. I absolutely adored them.

I am in love with this whole Sick Boys series and I can't wait to see what Braxton has in store for us. I feel like he might just be the most devious of them all.

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Reckless Thief by Heather Long

Reckless Thief, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The mentor. The doctor. The Vandal. I grew up on the streets despite my older sister’s best efforts to keep my nose clean. I thought I knew better. I worked hard. and made money. Who cared if what I did was a little illegal? Then a little boy paid the price for my carelessness. A little boy and his baby sister. It was the wakeup call I needed, even if the cost came too high. Rough choices made for rough outcomes and when I had the chance to join the military or go to jail to get straight, I went to the military. I paid for my thoughtless actions by becoming deliberate. I paid for my greed by offering service. I paid for my chance at a better life with blood, sweat, and fire. That service left me scarred but determined. Medical school and training taught me I could continue to serve. I walked away from the streets, from the blood, the violence, and costs of doing business. Living a life I ...
