The Wake by Adell Ryan

The Wake, (Daughter of Perdition)
Adell Ryan
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Blurb:
The end is here. From the land to the sea, our realm degrades, proving the foretellings prophesied. Soon, the beings of Ceteris will cease to exist, no matter their status or race. Powerful queens, fallen angels, fierce giants, and hungry demons alike will be taken by the Krisis. Our eternal punishment will finally end. But so will everything good that came with it. Love. Companionship. Family. Yet, despite our already limited moments, someone — something — is determined to worsen our suffering by stealing what few moon rises and sunsets we have left. They did not take into consideration my penchant for breaking the rules, though. Determined to make as many more memories with my men as possible — to experience just a few more sunsets entwined — I intend on reclaiming every stolen second. If it is the very last thing I do before the lick of flames consumes us… The Fallen will rise.

Series

This is the final book in the Daughter of Perdition series and oh my heart. What an end it is. This has been such a complex story. The world building, the character definition and growth. The changing dynamics with everything. It's one of those stories that you have to be fully involved in which is great b/c you wouldn't want it any other way. We have been through so much in the first two books and it's all lead up to this final book. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified going into this book. You know from book one that this won't be your typical happily ever after. They are set on a course of destruction from the get go. While we have had an amazing journey to get to this point, and we have had some wonderful memories made, I was still heartbroken just thinking about the ending. I felt the doom lingering over my head just like they did with the Krisis. No spoilers but when I got there, when I made it to the very end, it was absolute perfection. I couldn't think of any better way to end this amazing story. Yes, I did cry. Adell Ryan actually got tears out of me. Real tears! There were some heartbreakingly sad moments. There were also fun, happy memories made and even some funny moments shared. It was the perfect mix of everything to give us the best, most amazing end to this adventure. I am going to miss these characters but my heart is happy. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Ruining Dahlia by C.R. Jane

Ruining Dahlia, (Mafia Wars) C.R. Jane ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: I was sold to my enemies. And not just my enemies. I was sold to monsters. I should know all about how to survive monsters though, I come from a family of them. We aren't Butchers in name only, and surely the Rossi family can’t be as bad as the devil that’s been destroying me since I was eight years old.
