Ruining Dahlia by C.R. Jane

Ruining Dahlia, (Mafia Wars)

Blurb:
I was sold to my enemies. And not just my enemies. I was sold to monsters. I should know all about how to survive monsters though, I come from a family of them. We aren't Butchers in name only, and surely the Rossi family can’t be as bad as the devil that’s been destroying me since I was eight years old. New York City, the powerful head of the Cosa Nostra, is my new home. Where Lucian, Raphael, and Gabriel Rossi now think they own me. The thing they don't realize is that I'm more than what I seem. A dahlia has always bloomed best in the light, and even though everything about this place and these men is shrouded in darkness, I’m determined to thrive…to win. They play a game for keeps, a game where the only rule is that there are no rules. They want to ruin me. But what disturbs me most is that I just might like it. It’s me against them, and only time will tell If I'll be the winner or be destroyed in these cruel and merciless Mafia Wars. *Ruining Dahlia is a full-length reverse harem novel in the dark and twisted Mafia Wars world. *Recommended 18+ due to mature language, adult situations, triggers galore, and sensitive content.

Ruining Dahlia is the third book in the Mafia Wars shared world series. They call be read as standalones and in any order but you really really should read them all. I am absolutely LOVING this whole shared world series. The books just keep getting better and better.

Ruining Dahlia is about Dahlia who comes from the Butcher family. She's set to marry into the Cosa Nostra, to Lucian. So Dahlia comes from a pretty rough family so she is a pretty tough cookie. She's had a traumatic experience in her past though that has given her some PTSD. Even though she is scared and not happy about leaving everything she knows and heading across the pond to a new life, she is also a little excited to be able to escape her past. Unfortunately, she may have traded one monster for three.

So first we have Gabriel. I'm starting with him b/c he is just the most perfect book boyfriend you will ever find. Yes he is a rough mafia man but he is infatuated with Dahlia and does everything he can to make her happy. He makes you swoon and steals your heart right from the start. Then there is Raphael. He is no angel. He is devious and demented and you will fall in love with him too. It will just take you a little longer. Then we have the husband. Lucian. You will want to hate him. He can come across as such a mean, careless a hole. There is another side to him though and when you discover it, you will wonder how you ever thought anything bad about him at all. He too has a past he can't seem to overcome.

So this is by far my favorite book that C.R. has ever written. She did a fantastic job with everything. I was hooked from the beginning and I devoured this book. There was a ton of action and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. There were some really intense sexy times. A lot of drama. I'm so glad that it was a standalone and we got to finish the whole story but I'm also sad. I really connected with and enjoyed these characters and I'm sad to see them go. I'm so excited that we have three more books in this world to explore.
