Blurb:
If she isn't mine in the end, I'll still be hers.
It's torture, but it's true...
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Meagan Brandy comes a new, angsty standalone romance about love, loss, and the path to forgiveness.
For years, I've dreamt of what college life could bring and while some things changed, there was always one constant.
It didn't matter how wild I allowed my imagination to run, it always led me to the same place in the end.
It led me to him.
My future was clear, and he was it.
Until suddenly ... he wasn't.
Now I'm a shell of who I was, on a path too blurry to follow, and I see no way out.
No way up.
They say first loves last forever.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of...

This is a 152k word standalone romance full of angst that is sure to pack a punch!
This review is going to be a little harder to write b/c you really need to go into this book blind. You do NOT need to know who the guy is until you read. That's just all there is to it. If you do know ahead of time, the whole experience is going to be ruined. So with that said, here's what I have.
Say You Swear really is a phenomenal book. It is a standalone but there are some characters from Meagan's other book that show up. You don't have to know their story to enjoy this one. I can tell you that Arianna is our female lead. I really like Ari. Part of the experience of this book is how we get to grow with Ari. She, her twin brother Mason and her close, tight knit, group of friends have been together forever. Now it's time to go to college and everything is changing. It's a very real, very emotional journey of growth.
So I can also tell you that this book has one of the most absolutely perfect, swoon worthy, panty and heart melting men you will probably ever read. That's really all I can say about that. Sorry.
This book will take you through the wringer for sure. It is going to make you laugh, make you cry, make you want to scream. It's a big ass book and it is full of angst like you wouldn't believe. Meagan throws everything at you in this book.
Now I will say there is a certain thing that happened in this book that I usually hate. I don't think I've ever mentioned it before in my reviews so it's not the back and forth, past to present thing that I'm usually talking about. This is just one of those things that you see it coming and I'm like, no. NO! Please don't go there with that. And she did. She went there. For a second, I thought all was lost and I was going to be ruined and the rest of the book would just be wasted. But it wasn't. It wasn't a mood killer or make me want to stop reading moment. It was a heart ripping moment for sure. Anyway, my point is, if you happen to hear something about this book that you think normally fits in your 'I don't like it' category, you should still give it a chance. I did and I don't regret it at all. I will say that I have seen so many people talk about this book bringing them to tears. It is absolutely gut wrenching in places but I did refrain from crying.
Bottom line, this is a beautifully written story that will take you through every single emotion that is possible.
