His Rule by A Zavarelli & Natasha Knight

His Rule, (The Rite Trilogy)
A Zavarelli & Natasha Knight
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Blurb:
I live in a world where secrecy reigns. A Society rooted in power, wealth, and long-held dynasties. Where men are Kings, and women are pawns. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamt of escaping the shackles of my expectations. But it can only ever be a dream. I made a fatal mistake, and those shackles became a cage. Now I’m trapped in a war with a man who controls my every move. He’s my brother’s best friend. My enemy, my tormentor, and my solace. His words have the power to wound me. His touch just might break me. But this is his kingdom, and as long as I’m here I only have one choice. I’ll play by his rules. Note from the authors: The Rite Trilogy is set in the world of The Society. It is the story of Mercedes De La Rosa and Judge Montgomery. The trilogy can be read on its own. If you’re new to The Society and would like to read the first series of books in the world, you can start with Requiem of the Soul.

Trilogy Order

His Rule is the first book in The Rite Trilogy and it is based in the IVI world. We first met Mercedes and Judge in The Society Trilogy. You don't have to read The Society Trilogy to know what's going on in The Rite Trilogy but I highly suggest you read it anyway. It's fucking fabulous. So like I said, we met Mercedes and Judge in TST and I was soooo excited to read their story. Mercedes is the type of character that you aren't really sure how you are going to feel about her. She comes off as this spoiled, self entitled princess. Deep down our girl has some issues though and that princess persona is her shield. Judge is the badass IVI sovereign son who doles out punishment as needed. This is because he has always been able to control his emotions and be fair and impartial. His weakness though, Mercedes Del A Rosa. Now Judge comes with his own dark secrets. These two are like a giant secret onion that we are going to have to peel the layers back a little at a time to be able to handle it all.

So long story short, Mercedes did a bad bad thing for a really good reason but it's landed her in some trouble. Now she's stuck with Judge who is trying to tamp down her spirit and she is fighting him tooth and nail. But she's learning that she might just like the strong hand approach he takes with her. Judge has struggled with his demons all his life and with Mercedes he can't seem to keep control. Both of their stubborn behaviors and their distrust of each other leads them to continuously be at each others throats. You know that thin line between love and hate? These two tiptoe on that line on the daily. However, Judge isn't the only threat that Mercedes has to face in her captivity.

Now you know with these two authors you are going to get some dark moments. You are going to get some steamy moments. And you are going to be left on a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. Oh my word. My heart almost couldn't take it. I am so glad that Her Rebellion is only a month away b/c I'm not sure I would be able to wait any longer. Hold on to your hats and keep some dry panties on standby, this is one intense ride.

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Merciless Spy by Heather Long

Merciless Spy, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The fierce twin. The dark brother. The wild one. I don’t give a damn about labels. I never have. Not when it comes to me. But stay the hell away from my brothers. All of them. I’ve sacrificed a lot for them, and I’m more than willing to give a lot more. If my blood, sweat, tears, and life were needed, I’d give it all up. Every damn drop. For my brothers, there was nothing I wouldn’t lose. Until her. Reckless, ferocious, and seemingly born to match me in temperament and spirit, Hellspawn is not the fragile flower they all think she is. I don’t think she ever has been. She will not be left behind, she will not hide, and she will not take the crap that life has been throwing at her. She’s saved our lives, defended us, fought for us, and sacrificed herself for us. I have no questions about what she would do if they tried to leverage us against her. This is why I won’t allow anyone to put her to t...

Reckless Thief by Heather Long

Reckless Thief, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The mentor. The doctor. The Vandal. I grew up on the streets despite my older sister’s best efforts to keep my nose clean. I thought I knew better. I worked hard. and made money. Who cared if what I did was a little illegal? Then a little boy paid the price for my carelessness. A little boy and his baby sister. It was the wakeup call I needed, even if the cost came too high. Rough choices made for rough outcomes and when I had the chance to join the military or go to jail to get straight, I went to the military. I paid for my thoughtless actions by becoming deliberate. I paid for my greed by offering service. I paid for my chance at a better life with blood, sweat, and fire. That service left me scarred but determined. Medical school and training taught me I could continue to serve. I walked away from the streets, from the blood, the violence, and costs of doing business. Living a life I ...
