The Shadow Gods by Ripley Proserpina

The Shadow Gods, (Rebels and Curses)
Ripley Proserpina
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Blurb:
They were heroes who weighed the fate of the world against their love and chose me. The gods are a shadow, shrouding my fate in darkness. With one snap of her fingers, Athena turned my life upside down, and now I have to decide... Run? Or fight? Whatever choice I make, I won't be alone. Pollux, Achilles, Hector, Paris, and Orestes have fought the gods before. Because of these five heroes, the Greek gods are trapped, and humans are free from their interference. But the creatures who view us as toys aren't giving up easily. They want out, and they want their power back. My curse stands between them and freedom, and now I'm caught in the crosshairs of a war that began long ago. Lines will be crossed and fates sealed. And I will use everything I am, and everything that made me, to protect the men I love. The Shadow Gods is the conclusion of the RH duet, Rebels and Curses.

The New Gods

The Shadow Gods is the second part of the Rebels and Curses duet. It picks up right where we left off in The New Gods. Leo has learned about her past life and everything seems to be a big mess. She and the guys are off the try and thwart Athena's plans but of course they will have obstacles standing in their way.

So at the end of the first book we learned that Leo was actually Medusa. I wasn't sure how that was going to go but the backstory behind how she came to be the Medusa we all know was actually pretty heartbreaking. Now I'm not a big follower of Greek Mythology.  I do however enjoy reading about the characters and I loved everything about the story Ripley laid out for us.

You can always count on Ripley to give us a strong female lead who is relatable and loveable. Leo is no different. The guys all come with their own baggage and together they help each other heal and grow. This book was full of adventure and surprises. Of course we have some romance going on. It's an epic love story that could not have had a more perfect ending.

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Merciless Spy by Heather Long

Merciless Spy, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The fierce twin. The dark brother. The wild one. I don’t give a damn about labels. I never have. Not when it comes to me. But stay the hell away from my brothers. All of them. I’ve sacrificed a lot for them, and I’m more than willing to give a lot more. If my blood, sweat, tears, and life were needed, I’d give it all up. Every damn drop. For my brothers, there was nothing I wouldn’t lose. Until her. Reckless, ferocious, and seemingly born to match me in temperament and spirit, Hellspawn is not the fragile flower they all think she is. I don’t think she ever has been. She will not be left behind, she will not hide, and she will not take the crap that life has been throwing at her. She’s saved our lives, defended us, fought for us, and sacrificed herself for us. I have no questions about what she would do if they tried to leverage us against her. This is why I won’t allow anyone to put her to t...
