Mad Boys by Heather Long

Mad Boys, (Blue Ivy Prep)
Heather Long
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The pop princess with her bright blue hair, pouty lips, haunting eyes, and the voice of a siren… She’s always been too busy for us. Music seems to be the one language we both speak. It’s not enough. For her. For them. For anyone. I’m not enough. My brothers want her, the world owns her, and everyone else is vying for a piece of her. At the end of the school year, she walked away and didn’t give us a second look. Discarding us like she had her father. Now, I can’t decide what I want more—for her to come back or to never see her again. *Please note this is a reverse harem and the author suggests you always read the foreword in her books. Contains some bullying elements, mature situations, and is recommended for 17+. This is book two of four in a series and the story will continue through future books.

Mad Boys is the second book in the Blue Ivy Prep series and you must read Problem Child first. If you are like me and aren't a big rereader of books, you will love that the forward of this book gives you a quick recap of what happened in Problem Child. My memory is total shit these days so I LOVE those little tidbits of refresher. There is also a bit of a warning in the forward for some scenes that happen later in the book. There is some SA addressed so if you have worries about that, read the forward or reach out to someone to see if you need to be wary or skip certain parts.

Now on to the good stuff. We pick up where we left off in PC. The difference in this second book is that we get the boys POV. Which is AWESOME! I love being able to see inside their heads and know what is going on with them. Especially since they thought they knew so much about KC and they are quickly realizing that they didn't know shit. KC likes to keep informing them of that too. They treated her like total crap and she doesn't let them off easily. Due to certain circumstances, she ends up in close proximity to Jonah and ladies and gents, I love me some Jonah. KC is so good for him. Even with their relationship growing closer, she still never lets him forget the prior year. Neither does Aubrey for that matter. She is a hoot. Every time KC thinks she's got a handle on the simple life though, something drastic happens that throws everything up in the air. Either one of the boys does some stupid shit or her celebrity life intercedes and causes her danger. Girl can't catch a break.

Now this ending isn't an OH MY WORD HOW COULD SHE LEAVE US THERE moment. Not to me anyway. Now Heather DO NOT take that as a challenge to fuck us up next time. I enjoy these softer endings. It was still a very important moment in the overall story and definitely has me ready to see what happens next. I'm just not screaming my head off mad. Thank goodness.

There is so much going on in this book I don't want to talk about it all. It's definitely one of those books that you keep saying just one more chapter. I just need to know what happens next. Before you realize it, you are at the end. Sucks you in and doesn't let you go. So there you go boys and girls. Run grab this book and enjoy the hell out of it. I sure did.

Taking a Break

Taking a break Hello! I randomly decided to come on here today and it looks like someone actually does visit this site on occasion. I feel like I owe it to you to let you know that I won't be posting any new reviews for a while. I've been really burnt out on reading for a while now and while I do still read every now and again, I just don't have the same passion about it. When I write a review for the blog, I feel it has to be more in depth and informative and I just don't have that in me right now. Also, the book world just disappoints me sometimes and I don't feel like I'm in the head space to give it my all. Anywho, if you are reading this, thank you for being around and supporting me for however long you've been here. I appreciate you. Maybe one day I will get back into it and start reading and reviewing again. In the meantime, I do still review the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads .

Reckless Thief by Heather Long

Reckless Thief, (82 Street Vandals) Heather Long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazon / Goodreads Blurb: The mentor. The doctor. The Vandal. I grew up on the streets despite my older sister’s best efforts to keep my nose clean. I thought I knew better. I worked hard. and made money. Who cared if what I did was a little illegal? Then a little boy paid the price for my carelessness. A little boy and his baby sister. It was the wakeup call I needed, even if the cost came too high. Rough choices made for rough outcomes and when I had the chance to join the military or go to jail to get straight, I went to the military. I paid for my thoughtless actions by becoming deliberate. I paid for my greed by offering service. I paid for my chance at a better life with blood, sweat, and fire. That service left me scarred but determined. Medical school and training taught me I could continue to serve. I walked away from the streets, from the blood, the violence, and costs of doing business. Living a life I ...
